Clint + Christine | Forbidden Adventure
We've all got a 'bucket list' of things that we want to do or accomplish before we die, or in my case, before I leave this beautiful island. This hike was on my list since before I even moved here. I was incredibly scared and the talk surrounding what it was like made me anxious beyond anything I have ever felt. It was a once in a lifetime time experience that I need to savor for a while.
We went out, a group of six of us, in the wee hours of the morning. It was hazy, we had head lamps on and some round-about directions on how to get there. I had more adrenaline flowing through my blood than I have in a long time.
We went in with a plan to possibly photograph up there, if everything worked out according to plan and I wasn't too much of a hot mess to work my camera. So, once we got to the top and were able to catch our breath and freshen up a bit, it was go time. The air was super thin up there and the drop-offs into nothingness made this instantly the most intense photoshoot of my life. But once I started shooting the excitement came and the anxiety of falling off the side of a huge mountain left (almost all of the fear). The further we descended, the more the clouds cleared and the slight glow of sunrise came out. We could see the whole city and almost an entire mountain range. Did I mention that the adrenaline was pumping hard yet?
