When Allie asked me if I could come to Maui for her honeymoon to photograph her and Dan, I was beyond excited! This was my first time to a neighboring island and I am so glad that I could go so soon after being here. Allie is an Illinois based photographer, check out her work here.
Spending the whole day as a third wheel to their honeymoon was fun, and quite an honor. We took a trip on the first portion of the Road to Hana and photographed at Twin Falls and the rocks Ho'okipa Beach Park. There was an adorable farm stand at the Falls, Twin Falls Farm Stand, so we picked up some fresh coconut and pineapple and enjoyed a snack before we started. Later, we went to dinner at Mama's Fish House (the yummiest fish ever)!!
FUNNY STORY TIME:
When I got to the airport from our final sunset session, pants still soaked from the beach (I got slammed by a wave at the end of the session, no biggie, my camera is fine) I set off the TSA security X-ray thing.
“Ma’am, I am going to have to do a thorough check, I am getting an alert on your pants”
Ok cool, do what you gotta do.
She put on her gloves and began feeling me up. “Oh, its because your pants are soaked from the beach”
Oh yeah, my apologies, I just left the beach.
She started unrolling the cuff of my skinny jeans and half of the sand in Maui came pouring out. As I stood there, holding up the line, I had to stand on one leg with the other over a trash can as she “checked” my pants for something dangerous.
I was laughing the whole time.
